What's the challenge?
To speak in public at the Behance Portfolio Review.
What are you afraid of?
Screwing up.
How was the experience?
Funny story: when my friend Maria emailed me about the portfolio review Behance was having, I thought it could be a nice way to face fear just by going to a networking event and being outside of my comfort zone. When I tried to RSVP, the event was already full. In an effort to be proactive, I emailed the event organizer Michele Spiezia (Founder of Bespoke App) and told her about my project. She loved the fear project so much that she challenged me to speak at the event as one of my fears and of course I said yes (after we met for delicious breakfast at Maison Kayser)! The day before the event, I created a nicely designed presentation and a short video to tell my story and be more confident about my presentation. When the day arrived, I spent all morning repeating my speech in my head, over and over again. They say practice is the key to success and in this case, it was. I remembered every word I wanted to say and felt pretty comfortable presenting in front of a crowd. Next step: TED Talk!
