15 has always been my favorite number.
That's how I knew I met the love of my life, when I saw him wearing his baseball uniform and he had a big "15" stamped on his back. Then, without even planning it, we got married on the 15th of October. So, I was 100% sure that 2015 was going to be my year, and boy it was.
Without a doubt my project, 100 Days Without Fear was the highlight of this year, but I created this video to remind myself of all the other amazing moments I experienced before starting the project, during and after.
This year I got to experience the 4 seasons for the first time in my life and loved it. I learn that when there is no family around, your friends become your family. I experienced being heartbroken every time I had to say goodbye to my niece and nephew the few times I visited them in Miami. I realized how lucky I am when so many friends and family members visited us in New York throughout the entire year. I ate all the delicious food I never tried before in my life, and discovered burrata, my latest obsession. I had the most romantic getaway right before the fear craziness started and remembered how much I love to go skiing with Adam. I learned to work in teams like never before at my master's program and had valuable lessons on leadership. I experienced happy tears for the first time in my life. I learned to trust myself and believe I can do it all. I was able to look deep inside and forget about the outside world for a while. I uncovered who I really am, my limitations, my aspirations and my true potential. I learned a song can give you the strength you were looking for. I experienced support like never before, from the people that surround me and from strangers I haven't met. I learned that my actions can impact the world. I realized that making a positive impact feels better than having it all.
I had big expectations for this year and my only plan was to surpass them. I committed to be a better version of myself every day and craft this year to be the best year of my life. I was living in the city of my dreams, attending the school of my dreams and having the support of the man of my dreams. I had no choice but to live a dreamed life and I think I did.
Thank you to all of you who were part of this amazing year in one way or another. Now, let's hope 2016 brings even more joy, love, health, opportunities and good people around us. It's hard to say goodbye so such an amazing year. 2015, I will never forget you; forever you'll be the year that changed my life.
